Tiny Blooms, Big Personality!

Here are a few of my open-pollinated Micro Collarette dahlias.  These cute little beauties are not much larger than a Canadian toonie—less than 4 cm across—but what they lack in size, they more than make up for in charm! Easily attracting bees and other pollinators, they make a delightful addition to the garden. Sometimes it's the smallest flowers that make the biggest impression.

Micro-Collarette

What makes a Micro Collarette so special? 🌸

A single row of eight evenly spaced outer petals (called ray florets) that slightly overlap to create a neat, symmetrical bloom.

🌸 A delicate inner "ruffle" of tiny petals (called petaloids) that should be about half to two-thirds the length of the outer petals.

🌸 The bloom measuring less than 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter to qualify as a Micro Collarette.

One of the things I love most about these open-pollinated seedlings is that no two are exactly alike. Each one has its own unique combination of colours, patterns, and personality. They're tiny surprises that keep the garden interesting all season long.

Which one is your favourite?
