The U-Pick | Pick your own little piece of summer.
With over 100 varieties of dahlias—plus whatever surprises emerge from our seed-grown experiments (it’s always an adventure!) and other fantastic flowers—there’s no shortage of colour to explore. Come stroll through the flower field and snip your favourite blooms to take home.
This relaxed, self-paced experience offers a rare opportunity to visit Dead Horse Creek Estate’s private flower field during golden hour or a calm weekend morning. Our field is open exclusively to field pass holders, and you’re welcome to arrive anytime during your selected session and enjoy the experience at your own pace.
We’ll be there to greet you, share harvesting tips, and answer any questions before you head into the field. Linger among the blooms, take in the views, and savour the magic of the season!
How it Works
Choose a field pass. Pick your flowers. Enjoy the farm.
Explore our flower field, create your own bouquet from thousands of beautiful blooms, relax in our picnic area, and take home flowers you'll love.🌸
U-Pick Hours*
The flowers decide when we're open. Our season usually begins in late July and carries on through the warm days of autumn until the first hard frost arrives. Because every growing season is different, opening and closing dates may vary from year to year.
Early Season Hours
When the flowers are ready, check out our facebook page Dead Horse Creek Estate for updates: 7:00 AM–11:00 AM
*Private bookings are also available by appointment.
About Field Passes
Ticket pricing is per person and includes access to the flower field. All necessary supplies—such as floral snips and pails—are provided for your use during the U-Pick.
Field Passes may be purchased in advance online or at the farm, and only ticket holders will be permitted into the field.
This experience is designed for ages 12+, as harvesting requires the use of sharp garden snips. Children 11 and under may accompany a ticket holder free of charge, but must be supervised at all times.

Use of our picnic area
One bouquet, with as many stems as you can fit in a 20-ounce kraft paper cup (cup-holder friendly for easy transport in most vehicles)
Use of snips and pails for harvesting
Please note: Extra flowers are available priced per stem or $20 for an additional 20-ounce bouquet.
About Flower Pricing
Extra blooms are priced per stem, based on the size of the flower:
$1.50 for small blooms (approximately 1"- 2”)
$2 for medium blooms (approximately 3"- 4”)

We send your flowers home in a kraft cup filled with water, so they stay fresh from the field to your table, and with proper care your dahlias should last about a week at home.
